Favorite track on the album. Drummer killed it
Agreed! Dream State is also a killer track.🔥
I love Kamasi, but this was like 5 musical elements too many.
It all makes sense when you see him live though.
Never heard less swinging jazz. I put it mostly on the over active drumming. Really a nervous energy here.
The drums are pure drum and bass - so much energy!
@@BernardStrange The musicians are good but this music is stagnant for all of its busy-ness..
@@zdogg8 if you find it too busy, try focusing on the journey more than the elements.
@@lutz4432 Excellent counter, honestly. And that can work. Her's my key counter to your counter, if you have to "work" at it, or too much, it might not be worth the trouble, based on any possible payoff. There's too much great jazz out there (again, for some, this can be excellent music, we're discussing taste, now, mostly, not good or bad as such) and only so much time, so I key on obvious elements that make me either want to go further or just not invest my time, your mileage may very, as the saying goes. Jazz has always spawned these kinds of discussions, which is great, it's not meant to be, at least all the time, a passive listening experience. Jazz fans CAN often tell you why this performance/composition/interpretation is good or great or not so much. Doesn't need to be pedantic, of course, but strong opinions are one of the things that make active listening, or what makes jazz itself,"worth the time." Cheers.

As the Borat would say “...in my country there is problem...” ...for some reason such jobs take few years of community money and worker’s salary in Croatia. Ridiculous... # nice job guys, by the way, grey pants guy on the right side is MVP in this game...

That side walk could never be flat that's the no to learn . You need to run a board on top so you don't have dips like how can that be level.
Tomorrow is my first day in this kind of job 😬🤘🏽
Ronny Vasquez how was it?
@@rufinoalonzo8260 good i already have 1 month doing this job is very different that the video showed because i am working with the machine
Do you still work there?
Who the fuck hired these idiots. Bet you these amateurs were bored one day and got together like. "Hey guys wanna play construction?" N ended up with this shit. No screeding. No edging and no trowling ? Smh fired

Bunch of hacks. You have to strike it off
....
Lowest Bid?
This vid is more like how not to pour concrete Should not have plastic under the sidewalk, pouring WAY to wet, you should never rake the concrete and then bullfloat without pulling any kind of screed board, this is legit one of the most hack wannabe finishers I’ve ever seen
When I started high school I worked for a company that did this and we did not have plastic at all but did have gravel underneath. We used wood slats to give the cracks you see in side walks it almost looked each segment was basically made in a box, and for a good reason. It made it easy to replace. In the case of one segment getting cracked we could simply pull it all out and replace it without damaging the rest of the side walk. The way these guys laid this out if it gets damaged badly enough to warrant replacement they will have a bitch of a time fixing it since any attempt to fully break out the problem piece will result in concussive force hitting everything else connected, like the rest of that side walk. Also shouldn't there be a cross slope in all of that? I don't see one during their pan, it looks like they did even more side walk down a ways...aquaplaining for the win by the looks of it. Another thing is that we went over it with sand or crushed stone to finish off the surface as I recall to sort of give it a rough finish you see in tubs these days for better traction. We also used rebar to reinforce it. I imagine that a lot of what I did, though it's been over a decade now and I can't quite remember it all, isn't done anymore and that's why side walks are such trash these days. Meanwhile in Salem the work I helped with is still around.
Using gravel rakes as come alongs too lol
Quality of work is going to continue to fall its sad.
RIP for that driveway , The sidewalk is like 3" higher .
Didn't know a bull float could go so slow
To all the STUPID people here. 1# you do NOT USE wire mesh NOR Steal Rebar in a sidewalk!!! We pour min. 3,750 PSI for ALL sidewalks. All sidewalks to have 4" 2B clean stone NO vapor barrier which TRAPS water. Trapped water freezes and Lifts and cracks walks. All Driveways aprons to be 4" thick 2B stone with 6" concrete.. Felt expansion every 12 ft of walk when walk is less then 4 feet wide.
no skreet, no edger, no joints.... painful to watch....
probably a spot pouring hazardous sidewalk job. rip out the bad a drop in some new keep it moving .this is done all the time and everywhere no big deal..see this work every season but the 13 minute thing is just the time to place it
This looks like a municipal job, but what a crap job. Why are they putting landscape plastic? If they meant it to be a moisture barrier, then even more stupid, why for a sidewalk, its not even thick enough mil rating. No rebar/mesh or even fibers in the mix. Stakes are so damn high they are a hazard, not to mention cant strike off. Glad I don't live in this town. Should be called "How to waste taxpayers money in 13 minutes!"
A I agree with you man
Many cities dont want steel in city walks. It definitely looks like they are getting it good enough with the bull float. You hater ass hater. I dont pour like that. But they dont seem to be fucking anything up
They forgot to screed. Lol
the cheapest way to pour a sidewalk
is that a dirt rake? no screeding? no tap edges? no rebar? ARTIST!!!! OMG
You know you suck that ain't how you put sidewalk in you must straight edge then bull float
WORTHLESS, no steel rebar or wire mesh! Will be redoing it in a year or 2. What you get on the lowest bid stuff!!○○○○○○
It's what's in the contract, they never put rebar or mesh in sidewalks, from what I've seen in my 10 year of construction. That side walk will last 20 years or more.
lmao@20 years,,not without rebar , mesh and expansion joints it wont,,unless its in sunny california
Sidewalks don’t require mesh wire or rebar, although you do have to add fiber mesh to the concrete mix to prevent cracking and they probably did add joints theres still alot of time left for them to make them
13 min for pouring, raking, and finishing; 8 hours for grading, forming, and break time.
I mean the truck is white and it's a recycling truck (side loader)
The bins are dark blue and are meant for recycling. So is the truck shown in the video.
I don't understand why there isn't any steel laid out
It’s not required in city sidewalks
you are a good man bernard. appreciating what they are doing :)
not one expansion joint ! beautiful !
lmao
It's simple, Just go to WoodPrix page - click the start button and make it yourself.
Thanks for the informative video - i was wondering why some people cover the soil with gravel or sand before pouring the concrete? ... but these workers use plastic covering? Is it unnecessary? Any feed back would be appreciate it.
TheWiseOldChinaman maybe it was very hot out and they didn't want the base to suck up the water. Longer time to finish/ cure. But the concrete Institute does not recommend it. Plastic outside will cause blistering of the finsh. Water vapor becomes trapped under the finsh and forms bubbles under the surface. Plastic used inside as a moisture barrier can do the same thing Let the water bleed off and do not over finsh or to hot inside.
TheWiseOldChinaman i
a lot of standing around !!!!
Yeah the sidewalk magically did all the work by itself Einstein.
what's the big deal?
I missed seeing a lot of things I would have done; using a straight-edge to straighten the cross plain of the sidewalk, edging the pour, jointing, consolidating the edges to prevent honeycomb, reinforcement and other work finishing. 13 minutes is just for dumping the concrete and placement. I hope there was a lot more work after this video, but I don't know. There was more work before. Forms and grading can be time-consuming. One man could do it in a day, if he had the skills, material, tools, and didn't get delayed by the ready-mix supplier.
No steel because it is a city sidewalk dude. Its too early to edge and cut. Also one guy can bang those straight forms in in an hour easy
3:51 tacos got me like
So there's a black plastic bag under every sidewalk
It's to help prevent weeds from growing through, it's the same stuff people use for garden beds
It's actually a water barrier. It prevents moisture from escaping the concrete into the ground during curing and stopping water from getting into the concrete and freezing during winters. It's called a vapor barrier when used in building construction, and prevents damp floors. Weeds will grow in cracks and joints, whether there is a vapor barrier of not. I don't think I've ever seen anything growing though solid concrete.
lol, you are totatlly right
TheTomBevis yeah idk why i said its the same stuff that they use for garden beds i must've been drunk or somethin, but i didn't know that it did that
Don't leave you job bro cos I reckon you would find it hard finding another
Some how i missed the tricks
What kind of slump did they pour? Did they split it into sections or something? Or is just one solid piece of concrete?
Allen K they should have expansion joints probably every 40' and it looks like a 6" slump
my 3-year old son enjoyed the heck out of this video ... thanks
